Tim Green’s credentials for cool and crisp techno / tech house are impeccable. Here ‘Only Time Remains’ is a lithe and luxurious mélange of pulsing subs, swelling synth pads and dinky effects that run up your spine like an electronic shiver. Add some solid piano chords and a melody that blooms like a time lapse rose and you have the sort of club cut that will have you trying to crawl inside the speaker to hug it that bit tighter. It could almost be the bastard lovechild of Kevin Saunderson – if you looked through a telescope the wrong way around. Huxley’s remix is dark and womblike, enveloping you in sound, waking your synapses with bright synth arpeggios and robots in chorus, blazing the bass bins and then tearing the floorboards out of the damned disco. Francesca threads the key melody into the fabric like a haunting leitmotif and works the pattern into a piece with bold repetitive patterns, frayed and angular funky edges. Beautiful piece of work and bravo to all.
