Malcom McLaren – About Her

At the age of 15, I was captivated by the incredible music throughout the Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 movies. However, there was one scene in the second part that really struck me. It’s a brilliant blend of old soul & blues samples, specifically from The Zombies and Bessie Smith with McLaren’s magic touch combined with the scene’s portrayal of mother-child love, so unexpected but it brings real fucking sad emotions out of me. R.I.P.

Gil Scott-Heron – Me And The Devil

Such a masterpiece, I always come back to this song. I’m amazed how this oldschool artist from the 70s has produced such a modern album. Also songs about dealing with the “Devil” we all know is totally my thing. R.I.P.

John Jacob Niles – The Maid Freed From The Gallows

A song that makes my lips shiver every time I try to sing it, thanks to the amazing movie, ‘Mr. Lonely’. John’s voice flows with soft, soaring high notes and an energetic, captivating intensity. I hope one day to cover the lyrics without crying my ass off. R.I.P

Djali Zwan – The Number Of The Beast (SPUN INTRO)

I was singing this acoustic Iron Maiden cover song a lot in the shower during my mid twenties. The calming guitar and his grounding voice returns me to the present and brings me to accept the diverse times in life. Also a Song about the Devil again which I might be obsessed a little I guess haha

Deftones – Be Quiet And Drive (Far Away)

This song immediately transports me back to my younger self, skating and searching for the next stairs to jump no matter if my knees bleed.

Neil Young & Devo – Hey Hey, My My

This Song is a reminder to take yourself not so serious and that rock and roll can never die. Neil Young and Devo are absolutely slaying this great weirdly live performance especially with the singers crooked voice that hits me every time.

Slipknot – Vermillion Pt. 2

As the very sensitive artist that I am I might have a thing of falling in love so deeply and getting my heart broken very bad quite a few times. I have to part-quote a comment on YouTube cause I could have never express the feeling better than this, “Constantly struggling not to think about someone you can’t have, forcing yourself to let her go, knowing that beneath every layer of your soul she will still be there no matter how hard you try to forget her….“

Levin Goes Lightly – Nichts ändern

“Nein, ich kann dir nichts versprechen. Aber ich werd auch keines brechen. Ich arbeite und arbeite immer noch daran” Levin my friend, I love u so much for this song and I’m so glad we live on this planet at the same time.

Slipknot – Wait and Bleed

What can I say? Slipknot has been and is still on of the biggest influence and emotional safety net for me. This song reflects the struggles I had as a teenager that still come up in hard situations not feeling understood, coping with ignorant and unemphatic people. So if there’s no solution, time to disengage and head-bang!

Lil Peep – Star Shopping

When everything’s falling to pieces this keeps the peace in me. Been through one of my heaviest hardships with that song and it will always remind me to get back up for better times to come. R.I.P
