VARIOUS ARTISTS – FABRIC 93: SOUL CLAP – FABRIC

It’s a good time for Fabric to kick back a little more with Soul Clap, a slightly different approach to more recent volumes in their series and one that works well. Over the course of 34 tracks the duo take us on a tour of deep and rather delicious cuts, adding tasters of funk, jazz and deeper house to what is essentially a four to the floor template. Highlights include Jay Daniel’s ‘Paradise Valley’, which mixes out of The Return’s ‘New Day’ rather beautifully, while things start getting really tasty with the synth-tastic Harvey Sutherland & Bermuda track ‘Bravado’ moving into SuRFBiT’s ‘Slide Gloves’. This is a gateway to move into more obviously soulful territory, with some lovely deepness also added by the likes of Youandewan, Daev Martian and the ultra smooth promise made in Conga Radio’s ‘Right Beside You’. Summer nights will benefit from this, I can promise you!
