YAYA & Lorenzo Chiabotti – The Fraud EP (Monologue)

Minimal house music is back en vogue right now and two producers making plenty of the good stuff are YAYA & Lorenzo Chiabotti. With the likes of THUMP as fans, the duo have worked on Desolat before now and here pop up on the small but well formed Monologue label. Their three jams come with a remix from veteran Robert Dietz.

The Fraud opens the account with a nicely tightly woven brew of wigglgix drums and undulating synths. The odd freaky bit of sound design peppers the groove and the whole this is a perfect synthetic symphony. Radien gets more menacing, with darker moods and glitter feelings in the drums. Whispered female voices add intrigue and wonky synth blasts keep it firmly in the afterparty. Remixing The Fraud is then Robert Dietz, who goes for a harder, tougher track that is off kilter and unhinged in its textured and pressured drums. Closing out a succulent EP is NoveNove, a busy number with restless drum lines, spinning hi hats and flat footed drums that make you get loose. All in all a killer outing for this pair once more.
