01. Lotterboys – Can’t Control The Boogie (Subs Remix) – Eskimo Recordings
If I had one artist to choose that I think should be massive in 2007 it would be The Subs from Belgium. Their sound is original, fresh and filled with analogue dirt, so I end up playing lots of their stuff in my sets. This remix they did is a stomping house track with this organic break that’s just too ridiculous. Love it!
02. Ida Engberg – Disco Folante (Sebastien Leger) – Pickadoll
Sebastien Leger is, despite his French roots, living 2 blocks away from me here in Amsterdam, and passed me this incredibly catchy minimal / electro / trancer remix he did for Pickadoll. It works very well and could easily become another classic from his side. One of those trance-anthems-that’s-actually-not-trance. Great!
03. Baseball Furies – Red Organ Autobahn – Marquis Cha Cha
A very round breakbeat tune that sounds like an Autobahn indeed, as it could go on for hours and I wouldn’t mind.
04. Mike Monday – What Day Is It (Mark o’Sullivan remix) – Playtime
I loved the original on Playtime, but this one is just as good. It has a very deep breakdown and a very hypnotic bassline throughout the whole track. (reading this back it sounds like an average progressive review of 6 years ago…) Anyway, great music for late at night.
05. Studio R feat Capitol A- A&R (Llorca Remix) – Black Label
This is probably the first time I ‘ve been able to play Llorca stuff anywhere else apart from at home on Sunday, but this is just cool, sexy and a lot more.
06. Fat Cow – Acid Poke (City) – Herz
I get pretty tired of the incredible amounts of electro house releases these days, but this one does the work very well and is also original.
07. Timmy & Tommy – Rapturous (Eros Da Funk) – Queep Organic Music
I have no idea how I got this track – it was just on my computer one day – but I love it. It actually sounds like a great remix of a bad original, but I couldn’t tell, as I have no clue what the original is like.
08. Manrox – This Manrox – CDR
I’m a big fan of Malente stuff – and he honours his name with this Manrox project. You can hear he doesn’t care about borders of music genres or whatever the average clubber thinks, but just does what he’s best at – making dirty electro / breaks tracks.
09. Unknown Artist – Style Attract Play (Mason Remix) – Gum Factory
I’m not gonna promote myself too much – this is just the remix I did that I ended up playing the most when I was DJing.
10. Kolombo – Cola – Artminimal Rec.
Kolombo is one half of the Loulou Players, and is now making name for himself solo as well. This track is part of his Whiskey Cola EP he did for Artminimal. Incredibly funky programmed groove which should also appeal to a big audience .
