Tarantulaz (Sir Piers)

1. Sir Piers vs Michael Jackson – Get On The Floor (Summerheadz Revamp)
A remix I did a few years ago, now my dedication to one of my biggest single inspirations in music history. He was indeed a misunderstood genius, but now he is free, free from the pressures of the world. May he rest in peace eternal. Alongside some of the industries most talented musicians/artists (Inc Mark De Clive-Lowe (Keys), Nathan Haines (Flute & Sax), Toni Economides (Co-prod/Mix/Sonics) I was blessed to produce this remix. One of his lesser-known, yet outstanding moments, from the groundbreaking Quincy produced ‘Off The Wall Album’ from 1978).

2. Yass Presents Jay & Tahira – All I’m Asking For – Grei Matter Mix – Grei Matter Records
Just got this one and it’s possibly one of the most soulful releases form the Parisian producer. A tastefully made duet, the dub’s kind of jazzy too.

3. Tarantulaz ft Courtney Dennie – Handle it – curious
Handle It’ is a love trouble song ft London’s rising soul star Courtney Dennie and is all about that green eyed monster, jealousy. Tarantulaz drip Courtney’s RnB vocal tones over a bouncy soulful groove-laced with 80s style synths and punchy beats. ‘Handle It’ features peak-time clubs mix from Tarantulaz, plus additional mixes from NYC’s Scott Wozniak and Canadian production duo Jojo Flores & Joe DiPadova.

4. Nathan Adams – Circles (Vocal mix) Tribe
Latin Soul, Brixton Style! Produced by Zepherin Saint, Mixed by Toni Economides. This is one of my favorite UK house records this year.

5. Kenny Thomas – Coming Down From Love – TBC
The incomparable King of Brit Soul returns with a mind-blowing re-invention of the 1980’s Bobby Caldwell gem. Forthcoming on his aptly titled ‘Brit Soul’ album, Kenny’s voice has matured and is sounding better than ever and ripe for a come back. Produced by yours truly, with the one and only keyboard magician Kaidi Tatham + Sonic scientist Toni Economides on the team, we hope even Bobby will be smiling!

6. Sebo K- Diva – Mobilee records
Bad Tune! Plain and simple. Looping Dubby Tech and Percussive dance music! Causes a stir on the floor every time! Thanks to DJ Kellylicious for putting me on to this one!

7. Argy & The Martinez Brothers – Debbie Martinez Brothers – Objektivity
The brothers have hit the Big Apple nail on the head again with this little workout. Brilliant

8. Blackcoffee feat. Bucie Turn Me On (Raw Artisitic Soul Vocal Dub) GOGO
One word for this one: Memorable. Phil Kullmann’s Raw Artistc Soul sound is continually evolving. This is a stand out Tribal Soul record for me with its Afro Latin percussive flavor and haunting sultry vocals.

9. Dance Disorder – My Time (Radio Slave’s Rekids Tribe Mix) – Eskimo Recordings
Hynotic ‘after midnight music’ to trance out the floor. Perfect for those Dubby charged sets.

10. Elements of Life feat. Lisa Fischer & Cindy Mizelle – Into My Life (You Brought The Sunshine)
Pure New York soulful perfection. This has not left my CD wallets since 08. The musicianship of Louie’s Sterling team are back in full glory and sounding beautiful.

11. Kerri Chandler – Track 1 Revisited (Reel To Reel Mix)- Max Trax
New Jerseys House Pioneer brings back one of his all time underground moments with the K man midas touch. Pure Golden nostalgia!

12. Rocco Feat. Antonio presents NYC Dream (Loose Yourself In Music) (Morel’s Groove instrumental Mix) Bubble Soul
Being honest I’m not feeling the vocal on this at all, but, Morel’s Groove version steels the show and proves the perfect speaker fodder!

13. Manoo – Kodjo – Deeply Rooted
Pure Tribal perfection! One of Manoo’s defining moments and so affective on the floor.

14. Lemon Popsicle – Zavoiae (Tom Budden Remix)
I really like Tom’s work. Zavoiae is one of those jump up moments. Simple yet very affective.

15. Dennis Ferrer – Sinfonia Della Notte – Defected
The Dennis formula is a powerful one and like most of his work before it, this is all about pure quality. Sinfonia Della Notte is the perfect combination of those trademark string and piano lines weaved effortlessly into that tech tribal storm we all associate Dennis with. The result – Dance floor devastation every time!

Tarantulaz ‘Handle It’ will be released August 14th on Curious Records (UK)
