Trainspotting with Bollo & Chapter

01. Mijangos – Aqui Se Baila (Afro Latin Mix) Union Records

Fantastic stuff from the Mexican DJ/Producer Mijangos. Very cool and effortless, with a great latin vibe at it’s beating heart.

02. Bollo, Jocelyn Brown – Black Skin Blue Eyed Boys (Bollo and Chapter mix) SoulHouse Music

We decided to give this track a new lease of life by stripping it back, laying down an afro beat and adding some uplifting Rhodes riffs to accompany Jocelyn’s ever powerful vocals.

03. Brian Power, Hill St.Soul – A New Day (The World Is Mine) (Club Mix) – SoulHouse Music

Beautiful soulful track, that makes your day warm and sunny wherever you are. The vocals are just sublime on this.

04. Silvano Del Gado, Paolo Barbato – From Jamaica to Brasil (Paolo Baboto Working Remix) Fmaj

Big, driving and intricate afro-latin drums with the classic “work it to the bone” vocal sample. It gets you deep in your gut, you can’t fail to groove to this. Perfect for a late night journey set.

05. Folamor – Ivoire (Original Mix) Defected

A beauty from the Album Umami by the fast rising French producer and DJ. A heady mix of disco and afro with one of the catchiest chorus’s you’ll hear in a while.

06. Thommy Davis, Greg Lewis – Hot (Original Mix) Unquantize

This just rolls and rolls and hypnotically draws you in. Love the simple one worded vocal sample and the occasional electronic bleeps that accompany such a strong, driving and live sounding drum track.

07. Brian Power, Lifford – Time After Time (Bollo and Chapter Mix) SoulHouse Music

The idea for this remix was to make a slightly darker, electronic version. We began with an Afro beat and followed the progressive house route to create the mood.

08. Aretha Franklin – Spanish Harlem (Afro Congo Mix) Toupee Records

Real nice tribute to the Queen of Soul, this. The gentle afro drums in the background sit really well with this legendary song from way back in the 60s.

09. Greg WinfieId, Kadesh -I Found Love (Dj Spen & Gary Hudgins Remix) T’s Box

Great remix of this massively uplifting gospel tune. Spen always delivers. We love how the vocals and intensity build as the track progresses. Only one thing to ad: Hallelujah!

10. Detroit Swindle, Jungle By Night – Call of the Wild feat. Jungle by Night Heist Recordings

Great to hear the mighty Detroit Swindle take on this afro track. Subtle, clever and very musical, and we love the trumpet solo in the middle. Will never tire of hearing this.
