Trainspotting with Martin Lodge

1. Doggett Brothers-Outta Control (Opolopo Remix) [Ashwood Records]

Opolopo is definitely ticking ever box at the moment, love his old school boogie sound and he turns in a great remix on this one.

2. Rhemi ft. Lifford & Hanlei-Mask Off [Rhemi Music]

Rhemi produced one of the biggest hits of last year with “Diamond” and this track isn’t far behind that one.

3. The Foreign Exchange-Body (DJ Spinna Remix) [Makin’ Moves]

Loved the original when I heard it on the album, now Spinna has put his Galactic Soul twist on it.

4. The DangerFeel Newbies-What Am I Here For (Original NDATL Vocal) [Defected]

Been around for a bit now, but as soon as I heard it I haven’t stopped playing it, Kai Alce hitting the spot every time at the moment.

5. 4th Sign-Deep Dip [Ondule Recordings]

Haunting strings, skippy beat and a vocal sample, not much else to it, but it works.

6. Thatmanmonkz-For Bae [Delusions Of Grandeur]

Gospel vocal sample laid over organ, pure house music business.

7. Mike Steva ft. Motty & Siobhan-Weekend Love (Louie Vega Roots NYC Main Mix) [Yoruba Records]

A great song in the first place then Louie comes along and puts his magic on it.

8. Disclosure & Al Green-Feel Like I Do [Island Records]

Disclosure boys reworking Al Green, simple as.

9. Zo! ft. Phonte-Starlight [The Foreign Exchange]

I could’ve chosen any track from the current album SkyBreak, loving their work.

10. De La Soul ft. Snoop Dogg-Pain [AOI Records]

They’re back and if this track is anything to go by I can’t wait for the album to drop later this year, Summer BBQ music at it’s best.

Martin Lodge plays at the Deep Into Soul Suncebeat Reunion party alongside CJ Mackintosh, Davide Fioresi, Rhemi Music’s Neil Pierce & Ziggy Funk and David Bailey on Sunday August 14th at the Prince Of Wales Brixton from 4pm-1am.
