Trainspotting with Ronnie Herel – Heavy House 10 (Mi Soul Radio)

1. Ronnie Herel & Brian Power – I Wanted Your Love feat Ali Tennant – Soulhouse Records

It’s a very risky move when you attempt to do a cover of a Luther Vandross classic, but we were certainly up for the challenge and there’s no-one more critical than me when it comes down to covering an artist as revered as Luther. It’s a song that I’ve always loved and thought was under played. During the recording of the vocals with Ali Tennant, he absolutely nailed it with total respect to LV but putting his own vocal stamp on it…I knew he was the one!! Very proud of this track and a massive love to Brian Power inspiring me to get back in the lab for the making of this and also to DJ Spen & Gary Hudgins for a fantastic remix!!

2. David Morales & Janice Robinson – Father – Def Mix

Gospel house at it’s finest with David Morales linking up with the amazing Janice Robinson… Playing this inspirational piece of music in all my 4 to the floor sets right now!!

3. Loleatta Holloway – Can’t Let You Go (Louie Vega & Josh Milan (Truth dub) – Vega Records

This has just got my kinda vibe written all over it. A red hot n raw, monotonous groove with gallons of soul of course with the late great Loleatta Holloways vocal laced all over this. The Dream team of Louie Vega  & Josh Milan have smashed this one out of the park! #BIGness!

4. Brian Power presents Lifford – Time After Time – Soulhouse Records

This has pretty much become an anthem in such a short space of time. Lifford has absolutely had an incredible year and I’m so pleased for him because it’s deserved, as he is an incredible vocalist. He sounds truly in his own league on this one and it’s hands in the air time when this comes on. Love the BP presents SoulHouse Volume One, proud to be a part of that movement and I look forward to Volume 2,3 & 4!!

5. Mousse T feat TAZ & Anaya Day – Rock The Mic – Glitterbox Recordings

This tune started off its “Ooh Song” journey back in 1999 with Mousse T revisiting it in 2015 for the “Ooh Song”
Part II. Respect to music maestros Ashley Beedle & Jo Wallace for realizing the potential and suggesting to Mousse that TAZ should drop a rap on this one therefore transforming it into a massively accessible club banger. A straight fire hit!

6. David Harness – We Got It – Moulton Music

This is one of my favorite tracks of recent times because of the way David’s used Barry White’s “You’re The First, My Last, My Everything”. A classic groove built and manipulated into an absolute monster and after playing it at my London Party “Funky Dory” last year, it’s right at the front of my DJ Box followed swiftly by the original break! MASSIVE!

7. Brian Power & Mike Delgado – In Memoria Di Roberto – Soulhouse Music

Tribute to Robert Miles. Loving the Latino feel of this and it’s made extra special as it’s a dedication to the late great genius of Robert Miles as the SoulHouse Family were in the lab when they heard of Robert’s untimely death.

8. Leroy Burgess & Kenny Carpenter – More Love – KC Recordings

What a collaboration…It speaks for itself really. The Godfather of Boogie linking with heavyweight DJs / Producers Kenny Carpenter and DJ Spen can only produce one outcome…. A #TotalBanger

9. DJ Romain feat Emory – This Hot (DJ Spen & Sean McCabe Hotter Than July mix) – Quantize Recordings

DJ Romain’s “That’s How We Do It” album was amongst the highlight house music albums of 2017 but this one was an absolute standout for me given the DJ Spen and Sean McCabe mix treatment, this is red hot!!

10. Groove Junkies, Solara & Richard Earnshaw – Perception (Earnshaw’s Hypnotronic Main Mix) – Morehouse Records

Always been a fan of Richard Earnshaw’s work and this absolute works those bass bins in clubland. A pumping, pulsating dance floor gem!

Ronnie Herel & Brian Power – I Wanted Your Love feat Ali Tennant features on Soulhouse Vol.1 –  out on February 2nd 2018 on Soulhouse Music.
