Trainspotting with Oded Nir

1. Oded Nir Ft. Warren Byrd – That’s The Scat (Richard Earnshaw Classic Remix)  / Suntree Records

This track started out with a bassline I did, I felt the hook line immediately and built it up, I called Warren Byrd to jump in the studio and in an hour the scatting and keys were done. When I sent it to Richard Earnshaw to do the mastering (he mastered the whole album) i kind of knew its the track i want him to remix and when he said he wanted to do it, it was an instant match. The last time he remixed my track (‘Into Your heart’ 2012) it became a classic, I really hope this one will be bigger!

2. Horse Meat Disco & Kathy Sledge – Falling Deep In Love  (Joey Negro 12″ Disco Blend) / Glitterbox Recordings

I’m a big fan of Joey Negro, the fantastic groove and strong rhythm section just gets me every time, this Disco Blend is ace!

3. Mike Agent X Clark & Angel-A – Believe (Scott Diaz Dub Remix)  / Sense Traxx

Scott Diaz made an excellent remix of this, I love the vibe so much that I grabbed it for the new summer compilation of Suntree Records ‘Sunset Grooves Vol. II’.

4. Rob Hayes – Funky Jazz Tune (Richard Earnshaw Remix) /  Duffnote

I love a funky groove and Rob made a fantastic original, but again Earnshaw slammed this one right in.

5. Oded Nir feat Saskia Laroo – Rooftop Conversations / Suntree Records

The title track of my album, I wanted to create an atmospheric track that you can close your eyes and get your alpha waves to take over you. After building the track up, I called trumpet player Saskia Laroo to come in the studio and improvise all over it, and there you go, Rooftop conversations. I’m very proud of it!

6. Jamie Lewis, Kim Cooper – Unique Diva Drama (Jamie Lewis Darkroom Mix) / Purple Tracks

7. Ralf Gum, Bongi Mvuyana – Used To Be (Ralf GUM Main Mix) / GoGo Music

Taken from Ralf Gum’s current album, this is a great soulful production with a cool groove.

8. Ben Smethurst, Barbara Tucker – Don’t Wanna Lose Your Love (David Morales Def Mix) / Expressive Records

This is a lovely soulful tune! Barbara’s vocals together with David’s re-edit fits my sets like a glove.

9. Rasmus Faber, Maia Hirasawa – Shut Down / Farplane Records

Rasmus’s new album is great, it was hard to pick just one, but ‘Shut Down; is a really beautiful piece of work.

10. Meital De Razon, Asi Tal – Boogie Me / Suntree Records

Suntree’s lastest release comes from our sunshine duo Meital and Asi, they have delivered a great pop and funky production which has been well received over the stream portals mostly is the US. Its not house music but well worth a spin.

‘That’s The Scat’ is out now on Suntree Records.
