Back To Mine With Cheryl Holland

Cheryl Holland is on an increasingly diverse creative journey. A singer, songwriter, producer and DJ, she has built a reputation for emotionally direct electronic music, drawing on influences spanning house, pop and classic ’90s dance. Her productions have received support from Jaguar on BBC Radio 1’s Future Dance, while her live schedule has taken in clubs, festivals and Pride events across the UK. She has also performed DJ and live vocal sets in Ibiza for Sober Sound System and FML (Funk My Life), further developing a performance style that brings together her work as a vocalist, producer and selector. Beyond music, Cheryl is the founder of sober rave brand Glimmer, championing alcohol-free club culture following a feature on the BBC’s The One Show. Most recently, Cheryl teamed up with Riigs to dive into emotive drum & bass on new collaborative EP, ‘Deep Blue’. DMCWorld goes Back To Mine with Cheryl Holland.

Soul Providers – Rise (Bini and Martini Vocal remix)

Massive funky house track. Vibing all the way positive lyrics get everyone singing.

Jules Vic – Save Me.

From up and coming female producer luscious strings, driving funky bass simple hook – get me on that dancefloor, absolute summer anthem which I first heard out in Ibiza this year with Funk My Life.

Space Cowboy – Crazy Talk (Pique & Nique Remix)

More groovy vocal house with attitude. Absolutely love it.

Purple Disco Machine – Emotions

I first heard the original of this on a Steve Luigi at The Gallery tape from about the early 90’s and I’ve always loved it. I was buzzing when Purple Disco Machine released their version.

FPI Project – Rich in Paradise

Bound to bring out the old skool raver in everyone. Reminds me of Life at Bowlers in Manchester. Piano arms in air vibes another one covered from the 70’s Laurent Dozier then by Odyssey who absolutely smashed this when I saw them at The Blues Kitchen Manchester recently.

Joe Roberts – Lover (K-Klass Klub remix)

Sexy percussive intro, beautiful piano riff, even sexier vocals by Joe Roberts. Deffo one to get down with your love with. A Cream at Nation, Liverpool classic this! You knew that if K-Klass has remixed it, it was going to good.

The Brand New Heavies – Back To Love  (Graeme Park Remix)

What’s not to love about this tune! Great piano, brass and strings and Naddea’s vocals are perfect. Lyrically still as relevant as it was then.

Roger Sanchez – Another Chance

A Master of house! This has everything an after party requires. Need I say any more.

Sub Sub – Angel (Deep Love Mix)

An early northern house track, totally love this This track has gorgeous vocals by Nina Henchion nice bass synthy piano great to keep the energy up but not too mental.

James Baldwin – We Got The Funk

Groovy bass, punchy kick, nice string, great sample. Funky as to keep everyone moving.

‘Deep Blue’ is out now.
