After kicking off 2026 in style with his celebrated remix package of D C LaRue’s ‘Cathedrals’ album, Dafia Records boss Mannix now steps up with a fresh take on Freeez’s iconic 1981 Brit Funk classic ‘Mariposa’. Already drawing support from cool musical heavyweights such as Gilles Peterson and Dom Servini, these new set of remixes have certainly got the wow factor, bringing a renewed shine to a much loved favourite. The original really glows with high class musicianship, warm Latin Jazz colours, elegant brass and irresistible funk, all carried by a dreamy Spanish vocal. Mannix lifts these elements into a vibrant Disco House setting, where the melodies glide over a rich and confident groove that feels tailor made to add sparkle and chic to any party or poolside soiree. By far Mannix’s best remix work to date, just brilliant!
