Trainspotting with Neil Pierce

Acclaimed producer, Dj and Rhemi Music label boss, Neil Pierce, has been a pioneer on the British Soulful House scene for 2 decades. From the early days as Fanatix with Aaron Ross, then later joining forces with Ziggy Funk as Rhemi, and of course his brilliant solo productions, Neil Pierce’s sound is much loved and highly respected among the Soulful House fraternity. Over the years he’s produced and remixed some of the best names in the game from Blaze, Kimara Lovelace, KOT, Kenny Bobien and Roy Ayers to Dawn Tallman Vanessa Freeman, Hanlei and so many more. As he drops his fab new single, ‘Paradise’, with DJ Rae, DMC invites Mr Pierce to share his top groovers and shakers

DJ Rae & Neil Pierce – Paradise – Quantize Recordings
Here’s my latest offering alongside the amazing DJ Rae. It’s absolutely wonderful, so go buy a copy and light up your dance floor (when they open).

Inkswell – Trippin (Ezel remix) – Atjazz Record company
In my opinion, Ezel is one of the most underrated producers out there and once again he delivers with this remix for Inkswel. A Dark bouncing bassline, understated keys and glorious vocals hit the spot.
Inkswel & Oliver Night - Trippin' (Ezel Remix)

Goshawk ft Erik Rico – Can’t Get Enough – Atjazz Record Company
Goshawk and Erik Rico have collaborated on a few tracks, but this is by far my favourite. it’s soulful, funky and sleazy all at the same time. I love it!
Goshawk, Eric Rico - Can't Get Enough

Wez Whynt ft. Earl W Green, Jason Nicholson-Porter, Nickson – You Will Know (Main Mix) – Raising Records
Rising star Wez Whynt really delivered on this one. Wez has a knack of re-imagining 90’s R&B tracks and bringing them right up to date and to the dancefloor. Props due!

David Morales – Strings – Diridim
This track builds and builds so subtlety with just the use of strings and driving percussion  If you close your eyes and listen, this record will put you in a trance. Cannot wait to play this in a dark club with a killer sound system.

Honey Dijon Feat Annette Bowen & Nikki O – Downtown (Louie Vega Raw Dub) – Classic Music Company
It really doesn’t matter what style of house music Louie Vega touches, he always nails it. On this track he has gone for a classic New York feel that compliments the vocals so well. Another track that needs a dark sweaty club to really get the full benefit from it.
Laroye – Potion For Love (Never Give It Up) (Original Mix) – Local Talk.
Local Talk have a knack of putting out really interesting records that still have dance-floor appeal.  This is a prime example of that. An infectious groove overlayed with funk licks, Jazzy chords and vocal chops. Great work.

Hug3 – king kaoz – Soul Revolution Records
Raw, gritty and relentless. The way dubs are supposed to be.

Tom Chubb – Still Drive (Richard Earnshaw Inner Spirit Revibe Extended) – Huge Music

I love this remix from Richard Earnshaw. Deep House meets Soulful House and then some!

Tommy Marcus- Desires (David Morales NYC Mix) –  Resolution Recordings
Morales has been on a roll of late, and is showing why he is still at the top of his trade after all this years.  This is a great song with really classy production as you would come to expect.

DJ Rae & Neil Pierce ‘Paradise’ will be released on Traxsource promo April 16th / Full release April 30th 2021 on Quantize Recordings.
