Edinburgh-based DJ Alan Parley is the mastermind behind the bassline dub-rumbling Original version, but it’s Solitaire’s new remix that’s to be found exclusively on the latest Hed Kandi compilation ‘Twisted Disco 2010’. Based around Freda Payne’s ‘I Get High (On Your Memory)’ (although I hasten to add totally resung and replayed) that trainspotters will be quick to tell you also featured on Styles P 2002 single ‘Good Times (I Get High)’. As to the Solitaire version it’s pure funky filtered disco working the hook, over electronic pads, burbling synths and twisted beats. Similarly don’t discount Paolo Barbato’s soul-laced disco treatment that’s made with pool parties and girl’s nights out in mind.
