The first thing to strike you about Lady Daisey is her uniquely enticing vocals that lean somewhere between soulful and sassy, and even better are cheekily combined with playful words and references. The next thing is Batsauce’s summer feeling beats and rhythms which spell out party and sunshine in equal measure, sample use is kept to an impressively creative minimum. Almost every track on here could be a single, which says something in this age of rehash, while even the more melancholy moments prove themselves to be smoothly melodic too. The whole album feels like joined up thinking from beginning to end and comes with thought provoking messages such as the compelling Wants and Needs.
