A case of damned if you do, damned if you don’t… and yet intriguingly after almost 30 years it’s taken until now for someone to revisit Marvin’s marvellous Grammy Award winning comeback single. Davidson Ospina and Oscar Poche know a thing or two about deep grooves and Latin-infused house and this midtempo 120bpm shuffler is anything but sacrilege, potentially adding a whole new fan base in the process. If this were refashioned by the likes of the Masters At Work, Danny Krivit or Dimitri From Paris then I can see the dance community nodding in rapturous approval, so why not with these two New York producers? With supporters on board already as varied and diverse as Tiesto, Robert Owens, Inland Knights and Tom Novy, the universal appeal of this timeless classic is there for all to see and hear.
