I put my name down for Moody B’s new label right after encountering his euphoric maiden voyage, which was driven by a referential but contemporary current of classic Chicago and Detroit sonic trademarks. By this fourth release the label’s impact is inevitably attracting like-minded souls who might well have discovered their dream imprint. Geist originated in Detroit and Poland before settling in LA and has produced a total belter which weaves modern classical and minimal elements into the rich Wayne Gardner-style layers pulsating over the loud and proud old school riff. While welcoming this hugely-promising newcomer to the fold, Moody B keeps the two remixes in house; Le Jak uncurls further electronic sausage-prints while Moody’s Old School Edit heightens the acid element with devastating consequences.
