Paul Hardy’s Leeds-based Baker Street are having an amazing year with a steady stream of deep house gold ejaculating from Sherlock Holmes’ rampant pipe. Here, the well-respected Ben Dean returns to the label after over three years, throwing a weighty dollop of startling originality into the mix. ‘Standard Model’ adds breaks to the groove, lashed with lush chords and old school boogie swirls, dubbed up and deep. ‘Redshift’ rides bare-bassed old school elements, also tech’ed up UR-style by Al Bradley’s aptly-named Chemical Warfare project. ‘Blueshift’ takes this beaut of an EP out on a lush, glacial landslide.
