How did it all begin…?
“I was raving in my early teens in London, doin’ pirate radio, free-parties – so all that culminated my interest in dance music. I used to go St.Pauls in Bristol for big jungle raves and try and get on the mic. But I guess that all stemmed from listening to my sister’s acid house and old skool tape packs. I was young then like 12, 13!!”
Best overseas clubbing moments?
“Rollin’ with Kela was dope. We did tours in China, Russia, Oz, the US, Europe – fucking everywhere. Supported Busta at Wembley, N.E.R.D. and Justin Timberlake at The Forum, OutKast, Mobb Deep, it was great fun, and a good learning experience. Kela’s a smart boy and has got talent to burn. Spit Kingdom is to me like RockSteady is to him. To the death son!!”
Your biggest ever superstar moment?
“Probably meeting Jason Donovan at Gatwick. Mind-blowing. Ahem.”
Biggest Hip Hop record ever?
‘Capital Punishment’ by Big Pun.
New stuff about to kick…
“My new album is a mash up of indie, grime, 80’s electro pop, punk and rap. With a bit of samba and a dash of dubstep. Not forgetting a sprinkle of classical, and a smidgen of bassline.”
