“Well, we’ve been open since 1981, originally designed by Carlo Carbone and restyled in 1991. But though, we had some restylings over the years here and there…|”
What is the best thing about living in Florence?
“The beauty of the town and the spectacular sightseeing places around it… and of course Tenax!”
What is the worst thing about living in Florence?
“The fact that, apart from the art and history, the city doens’t offer so much and the city’s government is not so open in evolving or development, not only for nightlife, but life in general.”

What are the different weekly nights on at Tenax?
“We have our Friday night; Disconnect’ which is our electro, nu-rave night with some live acts and DJ sets. Saturday night is our ‘Nobody’s Perfect!’ party with music featuring from back to the early 90s – it’s very trendy.”
Who are the biggest celebrities you have had through the doors at Tenax?
“Well I can’t remember everybody but… Vittorio Gassman, Elio Fiorucci, Ermanno Daelli, Jean Paul Gaultier, Dalila di Lazzaro, Cicciolina, Eva Henger, Martina Stella, Lapo Elkann…”

“That would be Enoteca Pinchiorri.”

“You have been to Florence, you know that that is an impossible question, I am truly honoured to live here, although for museums, maybe the Uffizi.”
What has been the best ever night at Tenax?
“Depending on the decade… in the 80’s New Order and Virgin Prunes, in 90’s Daft Punk and Everything But The Girl, The Chemical Brothers in 2003 and our 20th Anniversary party in 2001 with Grace Jones was spectacular.”

Hi Patrick, so Frankfurt, a very prosperous city and a great place to live…have you lived here all your life?
“No I was born in a very small town nearly two hours away from Frankfurt. I came here like 8 years ago…”
So Sven, he was born near Frankfurt, was this city where Cocoon first started?
“Yes. It all started in some cool undergorund locations and grew bigger and bigger from time to time. We have done well! “
What is Frankfurt club life like today? What clubs should we head to?
“Of course the first club you have to visit is the Cocoon Club, but there are also some other nice locations…The Robert Johnson is a lot smaller, but has got a very good PA. If you are more into after hours, then you will have to visit the After Burner parties at the u60311. If you are out in the summer then there is also the Kinkameha Beach Club.”
What are the best bars?
“There are a lot of nice little bars here in Frankfurt. Most of them you will find around the Berger Strasse – but there are also some in the centre of Frankfurt and also in Sachsenhausen.”
What DJs are doing it in the city at the moment, are there any new DJs coming through?
“Frankfurt has got a lot of new, fresh talents like Chris Tietjen, also Markus Fix, Dorian Paic, Vera, Federico Molinari…”

“Okay party wise, there are some nice little underground parties – but they always happen at different places.. So you have to keep your eyes open for them. Most of them are open air in the summer.”
