Well hello Kellie, a DJ on the up and up, originally from a huge modeling career now making a massive impression on clubland. What made you want to get behind the decks in the first case?
“I’ve always had an interest in music and DJing but never thought I’d be able to do it! Then I started going along to Lauren Pope’s gigs with her and we thought it would be a great idea for us to get out there and start DJing together. So I started downloading my favourite house tunes and practised every day and I loved it. I’ve been doing it just over a year now and I’ve played at some of the best clubs in the world! I’m a quick learner!!”
You found fame via the FHM Magzine ‘High Street Honeys Tour’, toured the UK at clubs with two other Honeys – what were the highlights/craziest moments of those days?
“Oh my god we had so many crazy times! I can’t remember much of it as I think we turned into alcoholics for a few months! We would have so much fun going from place to place in the car. Some of the things we got up to are too naughty to talk about! Ha ha. Just a lot of drunken, girly fun went on.. They were such fun times and it was one of the best jobs ever.”
Originally from Torquay, now in London living with Lauren Pope… did you ever venture out to the South West clubland scene?
“I used to go out in Torquay all the time.. Every Saturday and Thursday nights I‘d be out with the girls. I went to Plymouth a few times but I didn’t really rate it down there.”
What did you want do as a career when you were at school?
“I didn’t like school. I always wanted to be a model, school was just a place to go to have fun and gossip ablout boys we fancied and we were going to get wrecked at the weekend…”
What music did you listen to growing up that got you into the dance music world?
“I started loving Hip Hop and R’n’B early on. My friend and I used to sit at home listening to Snoop Dog, Dre and Bobby Brown. Then as I got older I started getting into Drum N’ Bass and Happy Hardcore.. A big group of us would venture to events like Dreamscape and Helter Skelter every couple of months. Thankfully that phase soon passed and I started loving Hip Hop and r’n’b again – I still love that music now but I’m deffo more into my house music now.”
Did you find the transition from modeling to DJing difficult, where you apprehensive about being accepted in a new world?
“I definitely thought it would be hard for me to enter the DJ world and be respected as a proper DJ. It’s still hard now. Male DJs like to try and give you a hard time about it and they’ll say retarded things to you like “oh you gonna go and play your mix CD?!”. I just ignore them because I know I’m a good DJ and they’re probably just jealous because I’m getting better gigs then them!”
What has been the best club around the world you’ve ever spun at?
“I’ve just got back from DJing at the Ministry of Sound club in Egypt for their White Sensation party and I’d say that was the best gig I’ve played at. It was amazing. And it made me feel really proud that I’ve come so far in a year! My mixing was perfect and they loved my music. I loved it. I want to go back there as soon as possible.
Who are the best DJs you have respected over the years?
I think Erick Morillo is amazing.”
We come back to your house after your gig, what Back To Mine tunes get played?
“A real mix of anything really through House and Hip Hop – even a bit of Britney!!.”
Do you think the role of a female DJ in what is a predominant male world, is a difficult world to have broken into?
Yeah it’s quite difficult. But I think once people see you’re playing at these reputable gigs and they actually hear you play live, they start respecting you more and seeing that you are a good DJ.”
Biggest 10 tunes you are playing at the moment?
‘All About House Music’ (Piano Club Mix)
‘No Stress’ – Original Club mix.
’75 Brazil St’ – Original mix

Who is the most beautiful model to have ever stepped onto the catwalk?
