LORENZINO
MOVE ‘N’
BLACK & WHITE

Italian-but-London-based producer Lorezino Panico makes his debut with a blast of the kind of no-frills-but-plenty thrills house music I was wondering if they still made. Although turbo-charged for 2004, the ’moving’ on’ vocal sample is unashamed early 90s house heaven, along with the funky guitars and – most importantly – a hotwired monster of a bass line. Nothing new but he does it with such style and passion it works like a blast of fresh air up the trouser-leg. The flip takes it to another place as Black & White’s Salco clips the bass line, ups the energy levels and injects a weighty dose of tribal whoopee. Exceedingly good cake.
