The newest phase of the Good Brothers – Aceyalone, Mikah9 & Abstract Rude – mooches along with a commitment to “jazz, poetry and soul” and a motto of “to speak with an eloquent word/is to in essence kill a mockingbird”. Words tumble over go-slow led by Fat Jack, and despite rhyming with minimum concern, you can never discount them from effecting ideal lazy day hip-hop. ‘Kats’ flings feline purrs from the playhouse, matched by ‘Dogs’ – you guessed it – barking from the kennel. ‘Top Qualified’ proves there is workrate when needed, a syllables-spinning run-in with some of the Quannum boys.
