Back to the old school – in this case of an acid house persuasion – for the latest outing from the Lovejuice chaps. ‘Jack The System’ sets off on a granite vamp with truculent bass grunt and a pebble-dash of squeaks and clonks. The late 80s feel is furthered by Phuture-style doom vocals. Meanwhile, ‘The Hustler’ stays in the same era but on more of a party tip with distinctive piano, percolating conga and rap snippets adding hip house flavour. Solid label that always engages and deserves your support.
