The excellently named Darkroom Dubs label – you know exactly what you’re getting before the stylus touches the vinyl. This release is handled by Nupharmic, aka Phil West & Tony Goldstone out of Brighton, and is their debut release. “Precursor” booms along on a rolling bass sound, intricate electronic ticks building to create a sense of dub influenced tension. “Stoked” is probably the standout, a percussive groover that really packs some punch from the off, again with deep sounds reverberating throughout. “Justify” rounds things off, mellow chords giving it a pleasantly introspective air. A quality EP.
