The Best Of 2012

The Tunes

My top three tunes of the year (although hard to choose just three) would be…

Movements In Soul by Alex Arnout
Whoo Hoo by H.O.S.H feat Ost & Kjex
Where I Stand by Fabo (Karmon remix)

The Festival

Ibiza 123

Would have to be Ibiza 123. Lenny Kravitz was amazing. It was also the only festival that I could go to as most of us are here full time with commitments to our residencies. I also believe in supporting you own and am looking forward to what they pull out of the bag for next year

The Club

Sankeys / DC10 in Ibiza

A tie between Sankeys and DC10 simply because their line ups were the most attractive to me and the genre of music that I love. I also like the fact that they support new talent and introduce new artists with the same respect as anyone else

The Producer

Alex Arnout

Alex Arnout from Dogmatik Records has been producing for years and years and this year he released and signed some amazing tracks. He has a true signature sound, you know it his track just by the kick. Other greats for me have been Miguel Campbell who I showcased on my show on Ibiza Sonica Radio with his new album Back in Flight School, Lee Foss, Solomun and Amarali. But watch out for Jason Bye in 2013

The Hero

Mmmm hard one. Ibiza would be my hero. 2012 was an amazing year for me. The people of Ibiza truly feel the spirit of Ibiza and if you treat her well, she will give you all that you dream

The Breakthrough Artist

Ben Pearce

His track ‘What I Might Do’ is a fantastic track that was heavily promoted by us all on the island with clubbers singing along before it was even released

The Prediction For 2013

I think that the house scene will continue to go even further back to it´s roots which has already become evident in 2012. I think that the cool kids will no longer be so manipulated by huge marketing campaigns and just want to be in the cool school. The producers that have helped to make this happen will also be hard at it in the studio to make sure they stay on top of their game developing new sounds as everyone else jumps on the bandwagon. I also think vinyl will make a bit more of a comeback
