The Best Of 2012
The Tunes
Kate Simko feat Jem Cooke – Go On Then – Leftroom
This was a diamond in the rough for us at the label, a track that was played by everyone
Matthew Styles – Hot! – Running Back
Acid done right, this track is not going to leave my box for a long time
Odd Parents & Maceo Plex – Get Enough – Leftroom Limited
The track i played for the longest in 2012, probably topped out at 8months in the end!!!
The Festival
Burning Man
My first time there, and playing sun rises will never be the same
The Club
Fabric
Playing at the 13th birthday in October was the highlight of my year. Room 1’s soundsystem is still the best in the world
The Producer
Gerd/Geeeman/NYC Stomp
This man can do no wrong, his originals and remixes were a mainstay in my record bag all year. Glad to have him on board for my album remixes in May 2013
The Hero
Justin Drake, Sam Russo and Huxley
For helping me finish my debut album Word Of Mouth that came out in November on Leftroom. Couldn’t of done it without them, long live the traditional engineer…
The Breakthrough Artist
Laura Jones
Even though Laura had a great 2011, this year has definitely seen her shine as her 2012 diary has shown, with playing DC10 this summer being her biggest achievement. Look out for a couple of great EPs from her forthcoming in the first half of 2013 on Visionquest and Leftroom
The Prediction For 2013
Vinyl sales increasing even more
I am very happy to hear that vinyl sales were on the increase throughout the whole of 2012, and I predict this to carry on throughout the whole of 2013. There is really a lot of quality appearing on vinyl now, that the digital world often lacks due to over saturation
