Amirali – Melancholia – Crosstown Rebels

This sounds every bit like the classic House record that Amirali was destined to produce after last year’s excellent debut album ‘In Time’. And I love the fact that while this hints at the past it undeniably exists in the here and now of the producers imagination. If you like your basslines funky, yet hard-hitting, then this proves to be the real deal. Add to that a glorious sequence of unnerving synthesized elements alongside the dreamy melodies and all of this makes exquisite sense. It’s hard to improve upon near perfection so Deetron simply rework the vocal over a contrasting set of sounds with organ flavoured bass coupled with punctuating beats to give the song a different angle. But, when it’s all stripped back to the bare Instrumental version bypassing the song the sheer strength of their remix speaks for itself.
