Coming from the legendary Siesta Records you know you’re going to get something that hits hard with an equally provocative arrangement of sounds engineered for the dancefloor. JP Chronic’s latest for the label doesn’t disappoint either with his opening statement of intent ‘This Is House’ which pitches detuned vocals alongside nagging synths and a thumping rhythm section to excite you. ‘Shaba’ then plays with jazzier elements and further invigorating percussion, as ‘Le Chant des Sirenes’ loops a similar approach. ‘Late Night Train’ completes with a selection of stimulating drum sounds and deep throbbing bass, again repeating the formula, but also has the added benefit of a dark, brooding element to add that extra something.
