The big man from Holland cranking up his Razorbass
Yo big man, welcome back to DMCWORLD. Stunning new tune ‘Razorbass’ out this week – talk us through the record…
“Hi Dan, good to be back! I have known Impression for some years and we actually met when I played at Holland’s biggest online dance radio station called Hi-Tec Radio. A few months ago he sent me this cool idea so I joined him in his studio and we finished it at my lab. The result is a monstertrack with big support by Ferry Corsten, Dada Life, Bingo Players, Alvaro, Allure, Jochen Miller, Vato Gonzalez and many more.”
You were rocking with Ferry Corsten at Club Air in Amsterdam on Friday, how was that – how did the new tune go down?
“It was a great idea and a pleasure to join Ferry because it was the launch of DJ Mag Holland so the whole Dutch scene was there. The perfect way to hook up with Chuckie, Bassjackers, Sander Kleinenberg, Kenneth G, Johnny Kelvin among others. Ferry played a special short set and closed with Razorbass and his collab Collision with Bassjackers. A cool powerset and Razorbass goes so loud pffff haha…”
You have had a very busy few months in the studio both on a production and remix front. What are the next tunes swinging our way?
“This week it is all about Razorbass. Next up is the first ever remixed JVH track ‘Crank’ by my good friend Saint Liz, out on June 14th! Planned for July: finally my next solo called ‘Hybrid’ (after 7 months of testing and tuning), also the remix for Rigby’s ‘Earth Meets Water’ is coming up plus a filthy collab with D.O.D. as well as more solo tracks after the summer. Keeping it groovy, smooth but powerfull ! I’m bringing the “balls” back into dance music!”

Where have been some of the big events you have enjoyed over these past few weeks?
“My Carribean tour was very cool and also my first Miami gig with Ferry at Space Miami was off the hook! ‘Crank’ went thru the roof! Another thing is my residency in Holland which is still very special to me. Time Out is the biggest club with an amazing sound, light system and special effects: a zero gravity dancefloor and 520 degrees moving light spider to name but a few. I can do my own thing, test out tracks on several sets and invite friends to play every now and then like Yves V, Dyro, D-wayne, 2Faced Funks and Saint Liz!”
So I hear you were looking for a hotel to book in Ibiza – has this got anything to do with a certain large club in San Antonio and some Dutch investors????
“Hahaha I love that Facebook timeline!! Well, I cannot tell you that much because the official announcement goes out in a few weeks but I will be playing in a totally re-build club in San Antonio on a Sunday in July and September…they say it will be epic!”
Who are the producers from around the world you are giving high fives to right now?
“Tommy Trash, Hardwell, Orjan Nilsen and Knife Party!”
Where are the big festivals we can catch you over the next few months…?
“We are still closing some cool festivals but the first one is indoor and it will be my first time in China in Beijing at GT Banana on June 21st! The first outdoor is Sunrise Festival in Lille, Belgium on June 30th, after that Tomorrowland Belgium! This year will be my second time on the V-Sessions Stage with Pete Tong, Nicky Romero, Eric Prydz and Yves V among many other cool guys! I’m also attending Castle of Love in the south of Holland. Very excited for this summer and more shows will be added soon.”
