Inspired by one of House music’s early great basslines from 1986 Steve Lawler provides the next release for Seth Troxler’s new imprint Play It Say It. But if you were in any doubt about the authenticity of the title track, ‘That’s House’ then the smoky vocal intoning, ‘House Music’ will set you straight all night long. By far one of Lawler’s best productions to date form me with undulating Acid sounds underpinning string styled, synth stabs and high impact percussion this is first rate from start to end. ‘Most Beautiful Girl’ then relies on the twisted melody of the keys and bassline for its strength which all reach fever pitch around the main breakdown. Two great tracks, one legendry DJ.
