Great production from Ben Hackman sees the producer deliver the EP’s title track with a distinctive collaboration of sounds that are high on impact. By developing an exotic combination of moody synth lines (never mind the low end) and vocal snippets that capture a melancholy sense of sometime, this spells out its own unique narrative. A fine Dub version follows, as does the first rate Rampa remix of, ‘The Blue’ which plays commanding percussion over occasional hints of keyboard and not a lot else, but remains defiantly engaging. Hackman’s own Instrumental ends with more deep textures and a playful, almost jazzy view of ‘The Blue’.
