I make no secret of my love affair with Black Butter Records: it’s a loyal and faithful companion, an adventurer, yet tidy and reliable but never predictable.

Everything that keeps a relationship turning and fresh. And what part does Elderbrook play in this seduction? Take some Twin Peaks-ish lyrics then roll them up in a fragile, nervous sounding, male folky vocal then light it with some sexy, smudged and hollow beats and watch the blue smoke rise. The Six Remix ups the tempo for a shuffle fest with a slick click track, belly wobbling bassline that will tone up the and a ‘hmmm hmmm’ vocal hook that will workthe thighs and calves of many a youngster. Black Butter and Elderbrook? They’re simply the gift that keeps on giving.
