It feels like Christmas at Paulette Towers as every Suara release I’ve opened this week merits a review. Of course I haven’t done them all … that would be being a creep, but this Volkoder EP is a towering tech house monster that will mash you up big time. ‘Big Ear’ is a squeaking, squawking, sirens blazing, drums a rolling fist pumper par excellence. ‘Dancing’ is a percussion explosion, and puddles of rides to splash in, hi hats and bells to jingle, rimshots and snares doing battle and a possessed vocal that twists it tighter than the lid on a jar of christmas pickles. It’s sexy, sleazy tech house with a wicked groove that’ll make you do illegal things under the mistletoe. Be prepared.
