In the hip-hop section by virtue of the word ‘Rapper’ appearing, Bronx dog Jake, taking from Lyrics Born, Shyne, Mocky and your average backpacker, reinvents hip-house as electroclash-rap and pushes his pen against liberally lo-fi electronoodling. Some respectable observations – ‘Paperwork’ realising the world’s all about form-filling, ‘Madd’ entering the mind of the maniacal, the low-slung economy analysis ‘Eat the Rich’ – are spread too thinly over a styles collision abusing Jake’s dual passport and plain confusing followers in both camps.
