Oh yah – how excited am I? Here’s a little teaser from Jamie XX’s new album ‘In Colour’. Welcome to ‘Gosh’ a homage to London MC’s and grime that’s stands on breakbeats, room filling bass, snarling then squealing synths, sirens and airhorns and pure festival meets carnival derring do. It’s a bass drum meets oil drum almost Brazilian battle cry that builds like a sonic skyscraper and transforms in much the same way as night turns into day. It’s a banger – and yet quite beautiful with it. ‘Gosh’ illicits exactly that vote from me and I can’t wait to hear the rest.
