Baked From Scratch / Hatiras & DJ Dan feat. Messinian (Blow Media)
The follow up to “Love For The Weekend”. Philadelphian rapper Messinian delivers a full-on vocal over this bouncy tune. Call it super-funky-bassline-weed-house fused with party hip hop that rocks the party every time!
Abandon Ship / Macca (Blow Media)
It reminds me of Daft Punk’s classic “Rock n Roll” with updated production and a fresh vibe. This one is super slammin’ and primed for the crazed peak-hour crowd.
Foot Days Are Gone / Patrick L (CDR)
I love this tune. It features a gritty Parliament vocal sample and a fat synth bassline. I especially like the chanty vocal drop. Very nice.
New Jack / MBG & SDS (Steve Angello Re-Rub) / Size X
First heard HCCR play this in a Serbian castle and had to have it. Of course it’s by Steve Angello and it rocks. I love the funky, pumpin’ electronic vibe of the tune and the lunatic vocal stutters.
I’d Rather Be Alone / Macca (Blow Media)
The vocal has a very commercial appeal and is really well done. I like the dub – it’s gritty, funky and has a really nice breakdown that works well with acapellas. Housey-electro-bassline-bounciness.
Around / Dan Saenz (Hatiras & Macca Remix)
Jetset Recordings A funky tune with a killer bassline sampling some old school vocal I vaguely remember. It’s very much of a house tune with a drum & bass arrangement – wait for the bassline!
In N Out / EQ-Lizer (Angello & Ingrosso Remix)
Jackit Music This reminds me of old school acid and Josh Wink. The clean production, hypnotic synth bass, pounding percussion and tripped out dubby vocal translate really well on a loud system. Perfect for the late night vibe.
Grade A Bitch / Jacques Bauer
Blow Media This track is pure attitude and fun. The vocal takes from Scarface and is cocky. The beats are bumpin’. A great party-starting tune.
Atomic / Telefunk (Robbie Rivera’s Dark Mix)
Juicy Music Very simple, quirky and sounds like an old school video game. It makes me feel like picking up my old Atari console and blasting asteroids. Fun tune!
Let’s Fuk / DJ Rooster & Sammy Peralta (T.E.R.)
Very dark, zoney, tribalistic, minimal and evil. Great for layering. The vocal is borderline but it does seem to hypnotize and get the panties off…
