With a melody not too dissimilar to Coburn’s ‘We Interrupt This Program’, ‘Our Melody’ looks set to gain wider exposure as part of a Nike TV campaign and is another in the fast expanding crop of catchy instrumentals which oozes of familiarity; there’s no samples just some ‘inspired by’ reference points. As we’ve had ‘Lola’s Theme’, why not ‘Soph’s Groove’? The lady that inspired this funky slice of retro naughtiness must be one wild party animal as this feel-good number really does make ya wanna shake ya groove thing. Two total opposites as far as styles go, but then you know what they say about opposites.
