From the tight, balloon covered snare to the rattle of the drums, the hum of the vocal and the roll of the bass line, the Mambo Brothers’ ‘Momento’ sets itself up to take pride of place in any daytime or night time set. Wavering synths and clattering beats add to that boats bobbing in the bay effect then there’s a drum roll that splashes like an April shower and is gone twice as fast. It languourously sets sail then returns like a luxury cruiser full of elegant party people slightly wasted on Mambo Brothers’ special hierbas. It’s lush. Let’s just say that some records are too damned sexy for their own good and leave it at that.
