Compost’s latest imprint Black Label assembles different artists on the same piece of vinyl. Matt Flores cultivates a certain idea of house, kinda back-to-the-old-school with the minimalism of now. Here he remixes Flowerz his own project with DJ Michael Sauer, ‘All Tonight’ turns into a latin flavoured electronic chugger, rich and musical with gospel vibes. He also teams with hip-house legend Tyree Cooper for ‘Close Life Off’, a bumpy futuristic ride that’s jazzy and chilled. #6 offers ‘Kholi Number’ by India’s Brahmasonic but Japan’s Suzuki scores best with ‘Water Samba’, a trippy experiment between jazz and hip-hop.
