 The Durutti Column – Bordeux

Being based in Manchester, I found myself really interested in learning about the bands that performed at the Hacienda. I actually came across Vini Reilly from the BBC Hacienda documentary. This track was featured in it, and it’s probably my most played track when I’m on my own in my flat.

Ulrich Schnauss – Nobody’s Home

This was the track that changed everything for me. Nick Warren’s Global Underground 024 Reykjavik was the album that got me into progressive underground music, and this track specifically showed me that a proper progressive mix doesn’t have to be only club tracks.

The Replacements – Within Your Reach

I’ve been on a huge American Indie kick since reading Michael Azerrad’s Our Band Could Be Your Life. I love how this track blends synths and traditional rock tones. The lyrics are also poetic. The Replacements are awesome.

Cristobal Tapia De Veer – I Want To Live

I just binged The White Lotus with my girlfriend and this track is used in the final episode of each season. It’s my favorite part of the show.

The KLF  – Wichita Lineman Was a Song I Once Heard

Favorite track on my favorite album. Absolutely transcendental.

Jane’s Addiction – Summertime Rolls

Jane’s Addiction is one of my all-time favorite bands. This track shows a different side of Jane’s, especially the Live version.

Pulp – Like A Friend

I find a lot of my favorite songs from Skate videos. This one is from what I think is the best video part of all time… PJ Ladd’s Wonderful Horrible Life.

The Radha Krsna Temple (London) – Hare Krsna Mantra

This was produced by George Harrison and there’s so much musicality to it. I listen on repeat for hours while I work.

Bryan Adams – Sound The Bugle

Insane to think that a Dreamworks animated film soundtrack could be so amazing.

Minutemen – History Lesson Part 2

‘Our Band Could Be Your Life’. The spirit of the Minutemen lives in all underground music today. Jamming Econo.
