There’s something reassuringly familiar with this latest selection of singles from Charles Dockins as it sounds like he has taken all his favourite Disco elements and added them all together. Not that this is by any means a bad thing either as ‘Why’ instantly lifts the mood with elevated strings, soaring vocals and a funky as hell chord progression. Things then just get better with ‘You And I‘ which sits somewhere in between Barry White and Teddy Pendergrass set to a thumping House beat, while ‘Happy SSong’finishes off with yet another rousing song which leans heavily on its message potential. Think seventies meets this century.
