After Marco V’s recent forays into eighties-tinged ravey-pop, Johan Gielen’s too is going for a similar kind of male vocalist on his new single. With its filtered synth-chords à la Oaky, sine melodic hook (think PPK) and reasonable tempo (129 BPM), this dreamy euro bullet has got all it takes to do well. At 135, the Unbreakable Overdrive mix gets more energetic but avoids naff grating riffs by going for evocative yet raging chords (Tiësto stylee). Akatisha’s tribal mix is another solid proposition on a more rhythmic tip. Three faultless mixes, now that’s a package.
