Rebirth is a new label from Italy, and for the launch they are going with a revamped cut from 2002. And If’s “Finest Dream” is already considered a masterpiece by the lucky few that found out about it first time round, well now the original has been re-mastered, giving the 30 piece orchestral arrangement the clarity it so rightly deserves, as soaring strings sweep you off your feet, while the pumping groove causes hip shaking funky business with a slight techy edge. Scotland’s Silicone Soul provide a “Darkroom Dub”, giving And If’s “Finest Dream” a bit of distorted rave action, but still maintaining the majestic beauty of the original. Blimey! What a way to launch a new label. Oh and apparently there’s a vocal from Alison Limerick to come.
