It’s scary to think it’s eleven years since David Morales delivered the sublime ‘Philadelphia’ under his Brooklyn Friends moniker. A decade on very little has changed as he finally offers a second single in the form of this equally edgy percussive and minimal instrumental affair. Latin-styled timbales, shuffling maracas and a thumping kick stomp out his intentions over two drum attacks. With DJs likely to find their own acapella of choice to fly over the top, this DIY offering should find longevity of its own. Incidentally we hear that the Grammy Award winning producer will also shortly return with a new Face record – that sophomore single only taking the 8 years to follow up ‘Needin’ U’; rumour has it it’s a cover of C&C Music Factor’s ‘Keep It Coming’ featuring vocalist Nikki Richards.
