Rising Bristolian house star Jim Rivers is currently flying the West Country flag at full mast with a series of proggy edged releases for labels such as Satoshi Tomiee’s SAW Recordings. Here he drops a solid gold nugget of late room house music for Nic Fancuilli’s uber cool Saved imprint that we know the likes of Audiofly will be creaming their dungarees for. It hinges around a lolloping bass groove augmented by all manner of frilly effects and flourishes. However when the breakdown enters the room we are really in business for some serious group hug action as an emotional analogue synth line emerges to form the mix and takes the club by storm. Quite a moment. Mr Fancuilli has compiled an edit with a far more skippy house feel to it that we feel will be leading the charge early doors, but for some peak time whistle posse action, drop that original.
