The Dutch duo’s “Boogie Angst” opus was a refreshing and innovative concoction that melded elements of traditional funk and free-form jazz with a plethora of styles – from ambient-dub and samba rhythms to sprawling orchestral pop and even house grooves. An edify 70’s Blaxploitation vibe sounding like a lost master from the Stax vaults. The standout vocal contribution from the album is now elevated to single status with Warren Clarke adding rasping house beats to his energised reworking.
