The Save Our Souls album cemented Silicone Soul as among our foremost purveyors of quality and innovative house music with soul and invention. This is the final single to be jettisoned from its mighty undercarriage, the one with the Midnight express intro, major piano riff, Phuture vocals and rapturous string-drenched beauty [all over an elastic disco bassline]. With a 12′ mix it’s power and sweep [his gob full of Sooty’s penis] is brought home to floor-annihilating fact. As expected, there are killer extras. ‘Stolen Sunset’ is a gorgeously deep pumping house-up, while ‘3AM’ goes even deeper. Also given a 12” mix [like that phrase – thought it had died], it rides upon a snaking Reese-style bass-bed into that early hours state ofdelirious oblivion where what time it is doesn’t matter. The only downer will be waiting for their next album now.
