Having proved himself as a super-dooper disc jock (and he’s only 21 – git), IQ is now forging a name for himself as one of Britain’s go-to beatsmiths. ‘9-5’ might not be the best track from his soon-come new album (the somewhat average beat sees to that), but it’s hard not to nod in agreement with Dubbledge’s heartfelt gripes about that monotonous grind we call “the day job”. We’re also treated to the instrumental ‘My Heart’, a laid-back smoky jazz affair that you imagine Billy Holiday would happily grace. The kid IQ’s got diversity, that’s for certain.
