Another summer, another couple of months wishing you were in Ibiza, and probably at Space- on a Sunday. However, we have been shown a way to get slightly closer to the action; as We Love have started their own record label. Residents Riton and Santiago were asked to produce a track especially for their upcoming compilation: Riton to represent his sound and that of the Discoteca and Santiago his sound and that of the Terrace. So let’s go: Riton’s ‘Sound of the Studio’ is big, rasping and dark; A heavy, low slung rhythm with strobe-like harsh stabs piercing your eardrums. We venture onto the new terrace with Serge’s ‘R2D2’- a bumping, groover with scratched acid top lines and jacking hi-hats. Both solid tracks and a good debut for the label. Now where are our sunglasses?
